What to expect at the QlikWorld event: Join theCUBE April 18

The way companies manage data is evolving, and specific trends are playing out throughout 2023. But not everyone in an organization is an expert when it comes to managing data. In this era of data democratization, transformative methods are needed.

QlikTech International AB, which provides end-to-end, real-time data integration and analytics cloud solutions to more than 38,000 customers in more than 100 countries, believes it has a solution.

“Our focus is to help our customers turn data into value and help them close the gap between data all the way through insight and action,” said Itamar Ankorion, senior vice president of technology alliances at Qlik, during a recent broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio.

During the “QlikWorld” event April 18, theCUBE industry analysts Dave Vellante and Lisa Martin will talk with Qlik executives and industry experts about recent advances in data integration and analytics and the company’s perspectives on how companies can best activate their data to make better decisions and improve revenue. (* Disclosure below.)

How to transform data

The year ahead will be a significant one in the data integration and analytics space, especially with the impacts of artificial intelligence changing the landscape. More than 50% of enterprise-critical data will be created and processed outside the data center or cloud by 2025, according to estimates from Gartner Inc.

A key focus for Qlik has been to get data to the people who need it, pushing back against things becoming too bottlenecked. To help automate data pipelines, the company has utilized its Qlik Data Integration and has combined it along with the company’s powerful analytics capabilities into the company’s SaaS-based platform, the Qlik Cloud.

The company has also said it is the only company of its size and scope that is agnostic, meaning it can appeal to chief information officers who do not want to be pigeonholed into one cloud or another. It also recently announced its intention to acquire Talend Inc., which the company said would help solve customers’ most pressing data integration, transformation and governance needs.

“Bringing together Qlik and Talend would be a game-changer,” said Mike Capone, Qlik’s chief executive officer, in a release. “Both companies have differentiated their offerings to help customers drive more business value from data. Together, we would continue to embody the culture, expertise and partnership that customers value and operate at the scale needed to lead and innovate in an ever-evolving technology landscape.”

Qlik says its goal is to equip companies to best make decisions around data that will drive things forward. In a nutshell, it’s all about time to value and real-time data, according to Ankorion.

“You hear a lot about data being the new oil. But we see more and more customers seeing data as their critical enabler for innovation and digital transformation,” he said. “They look for ways to monetize data; they look at data as the way in which they can innovate and bring different value to their customers.”

Organizations have also been looking to use data faster, as well as seeking to use agility and automation as ways to accelerate time to value and reduce overall costs, he added.

“We’re also seeing customers look to their core business systems, where they have a lot of value like SAP, like mainframe, and thinking, ‘OK, our core data is there. How can we get more value from this data?’” Ankorion said. “Those are some key things we see all the time with customers.”
