Aisera founder offers perspective on latest moves from AWS in AI/ML

With his previous years of experience in senior executive roles leading divisions for major firms such as ServiceNow, Splunk and VMware, Muddu Sudhakar (pictured) keeps a close watch on emerging initiatives from the world’s largest cloud provider.

The founder and chief executive of Aisera Inc. identified four key areas of focus by Amazon Web Service Inc. during the recently concluded re:Invent gathering in Las Vegas.

“First, the most important things Amazon has announced are in artificial intelligence and machine learning, they are doubling down,” Sudhakar said. “They also updated Amazon Connect; watch out all contact center vendors. Third is in the area of workflows, with low-code, no-code workflow automation, and the fourth is offering extract, transform and load included as a product. Those are the big buckets.”

Sudhakar spoke with theCUBE industry analyst John Furrier at AWS re:Invent, during an exclusive broadcast on theCUBE, SiliconANGLE Media’s livestreaming studio. They discussed the significance behind AWS’ latest announcements and enhancements to its partner network. (* Disclosure below.)

Automating AI bots

The announcement from AWS that it would add more machine learning capabilities to its Amazon Connect contact center services caught Sudhakar’s attention. The company’s product operates in a competitive space with Microsoft and Zoom Inc.

“Amazon Connect is a big thing,” Sudhakar said. “What they are doing now is to automate AI bots. It’s good competition to Microsoft with the Nuance acquisition and what Zoom is doing today.”

In addition to the news surrounding Connect, workflows and AI/ML, AWS also unveiled a Partner Solution Factory last week, an initiative to work with partners and validate solutions in vertical or horizontal use cases.

“The partner network is one of the best tools that Amazon has,” Sudhakar said. “They know how to include partners, drive more revenue with partners, sell through it with more expansion.”
